The AUV-Sentry, seismic systems, and technical instrumentation onboard the ship all require highly trained technical staff. These scientists and engineers design, build, deploy, control, retrieve, and repair the vehicles and instruments used in the JOCMS cruise. They also help the scientists address the myriad of technical problems that can arise while at sea.
